Worker struck in the head at Liverpool building site

A 31-year-old Merrylands man has been injured at a multi-storey construction site on Bathurst Street, Liverpool.

At about 1pm today, the man was operating a concrete pump when he was struck on the head.

Liverpool Police Chief Inspector Guy Haberly said the man was unconscious and unresponsive when paramedics arrived at the scene.

‘‘However, by the time police arrived he came-to and was responding to ambulance help and assistance,’’ Chief Inspector Haberly said.

‘‘He was then conveyed to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.’’

The man was located on the second floor of the building.

Chief Inspector Haberly said firefighters from Revesby, Cabbramatta and Liverpool were at the scene, as well as paramedics from the Ambulance medical retrieval team and the Ambulance intensive and primary care unit.
