Lurnea man charged with 11 offences

A man has been charged after police seized drugs and hundreds of prohibited weapons from a home in Lurnea on Tuesday.

Police from Liverpool Local Area Command were called to a home on West Street for a domestic incident.

While at the premises, it is alleged officers saw large number of prohibited weapons.

Officers applied for and executed a search warrant at the home, where it’s alleged they seized methyl-amphetamine (ICE) and cannabis.

Police also allegedly located and seized a large amount of prohibited weapons, including:

- 116 metal knuckle dusters,

- 20 stun gun cartridges,

- 65 canisters of capsicum spray,

- 44 throwing knives,

- 96 key card knives,

- 4 extendable batons,

- 2 flick knives; and

- One set of metal handcuffs.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with nine counts of possessing prohibited weapons and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on August 19.
