Club Marconi hosted team members and officials from the 1974 Socceroos squad on Saturday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Australia's first World Cup appearance.
The reunion dinner was attended by 11 players of the 1974 Socceroos squad; 1974 assistant coach Les Scheinflug; Jamie Warren, on behalf of the late Johnny Warren; and former Socceroos captain Paul Okon.
Club Marconi president Vince Foti said: "It is very important not to forget where Australia made its international mark in football. This is a special night to acknowledge and thank those of the 1974 Socceroos squad."

Southern Districts Soccer Football Association will hold its annual charity matches at Marconi Stadium on Saturday, July 5.
Teams will be formed to represent Liverpool and Fairfield. All registered premier league and senior competition players from the association are eligible.
This year all funds raised will be donated to The Heart Foundation, and the association hopes to have Heart Foundation volunteers on the day to assist in the fund-raising efforts.
