Man charged over Green Valley ute crashes

Police have charged a man with a number of crashes involving a stolen ute in Green Valley on the weekend.

In the early hours of Sunday, March 30, several items were stolen from the garage of a home on Thistle Circuit, including a Toyota ute.

Police allege the ute crashed into a number of vehicles parked on Howard Street in Green Valley and Brubri Street in Busby.

The ute collided with a car on Matthew Avenue in Heckenberg before crashing into a front fence.

Officers said nobody was injured and the driver ran from the scene.

It is also alleged a motorcycle was stolen from a carpark on Glenfield Road at Glenfield sometime later.

Police said the owner of a Jeep parked in a residential street at Glenfield heard noises around 1.45am today.

Officer said he went to investigate and has told police he saw a man inside his vehicle.

The man ran from the vehicle and the resident chased after him and detained him until police arrived.

The 20-year-old Heckenberg man was arrested and charged with 14 offences including stealing from dwelling, vehicle theft, unlicensed driving, negligent driving and three counts of not stopping at the scene of a crash.

The 20-year-old is also facing court in relation to a fire in a portable toilet at a construction site in Atlantic Road at Glenfield.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Campbelltown Local Court today.

Bail was refused at court, and he will reappear in Liverpool Local Court on April 8.
