Suspected shot fired in Chipping Norton

Police from Liverpool Local Area Command are investigating a possible shot fired in a residential street in Chipping Norton overnight.

About 11.15pm last night (January 21), a 19-year-old man was walking east along Balanada Avenue when he saw a red/maroon coloured 2002 model Ford Falcon sedan about 50 metres in front of him travelling slowly.

The 19-year-old told police he saw a man hanging out of the car window and a firearm being discharged in the vicinity of a vacant lot on Balanada Avenue.

Police were called and a crime scene was established. Officers searched the area for any signs of a spent casing or bullet hole but nothing was found.

Officers will search the area today.
