Appeal for information over indecent assaults

Police are appealing for public assistance following two indecent assaults and an attempted armed robbery in a park over the past month.

About 3.30pm on Sunday, October 8, police have been told a 14-year-old girl was approached by a man on a bicycle in a reserve in Lalich Avenue, Bonnyrigg, before he indecently assaulted her.

About 5pm on Saturday, November 4, a 48-year-old woman was cycling through a park near Hamel Road, Mount Pritchard, when she was indecently assaulted by a man on a bicycle.

In the same reserve, a man armed with a knife threatened a 14-year-old boy before fleeing on a bicycle just after 8pm on Saturday, November 4.

No one was injured in all of these incidents.

Police attached to Fairfield Local Area Command launched an investigation.

Investigators wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 40s, with a medium build.
