This week’s Pet of the Week is the cross-breed dog Parker. He’s a male and is coloured light brindle and white. He’s aged between 8 and 12 months and is considered to be of medium size.

Parker is eager to learn, love and belong with an adopted family. This pup needs playmates, either human or canine, and loves his treats – another good reason to keep him exercising.

His name means “the keeper of the park” and he’ll be happiest if he’s given the chance to live up to it.

As Pet of the Week, Parker’s adoption fee is only $150 (usually $359). This fee includes microchipping, desexing, vaccination, flea and worm treatments and lifetime registration in NSW.

Her are some important things to ask yourself when deciding which dog might be right for you and your household: Can I handle a puppy or would a more mature dog be better for us? What size would be best? Should the dog have endless energy or be a couch potato to watch TV with me? Is my home noisy or quiet? What breeds and behaviours am I best equipped to deal with? How secure is my back yard? Also consider the life stage of everyone in the family. Some animals suit older kids, some are too boisterous for seniors.
