Memorial Cup for Sharne Cuddy

Earlier this year the Liverpool Catholic Club Raiders junior rugby league club was rocked with the death of Sharne Cuddy.

Sharne was set to play for the club’s under-17s team this year – his 10th with the club.

To honour his memory the club will host the Sharne Cuddy Memorial Cup on Sunday, September 17.

The under-9 competition will take place at the Liverpool Catholic Club sporting fields and feature 10 teams including Cabramatta, Wentworthville and Berala.

The Liverpool Catholic Club team will wear special Beyond Blue jerseys with ‘Sharne’ on the back.

The first game starts at 9am with the knockout format to feature games of 12-minute halves.

Sharne was described as a “ talented young football player with a bright future” by the club when he died in March.

He had been involved in West Tigers and SWSAS development squads.
