Sydney Kings to host American University Eagles at Whitlam Centre

The Kings are coming to town on August 17.

The Sydney Kings that is and they will take on the American University Eagles at the Whitlam Centre Liverpool.

The Sydney Kings Invitational team will feature a mix of established stars like Tom Garlepp and Dane Pineau along with players hoping to secure development contracts for the 2017-18 season.

One of the main attractions will be new Sydney Kings recruit Todd Blanchfield. 

The 26-year-old recently represented the NBL All-Australian team in China in a three game series against China.

Blanchfield toured the Whitlam Centre facilities with Camden Valley Wildfire basketball players last Wednesday ahead of the game. The game is being presented by Wildfire Basketball.

“The facilities are great and I’m looking forward to the match,” Blanchfield told the Champion.

“Obviously we haven’t got our full squad assembled yet so games like this are important for the coaches to see different players and combinations.

“I feel the ultimate goal for us should be a championship. At the end of the day that’s what every team trains for.”
