Liverpool City Netball Association backed up last year’s impressive showing at the Netball NSW State Age Championships with four top-10 placings at this year’s tournament.

The under-12s and under-14s team finished in second place while their under-13s team (third) and under-15s (eighth) also impressed in what is the biggest female sports tournament in Australia.

The under-12s, who also finished second in 2016, won 16 of their 19 games to place second behind Ku-ring-gai.

For the under-14s it is their second runners-up placing in a row after finishing second in the under-13s division last year.

They also won 16 of their 19 games across the three days to finish behind Manly-Warringah.

The under-15s team won 11 games, lost six and drew two in their campaign, while the under-13s team won 16 of their 20 games to finish behind Northern Suburbs and Manly-Warringah.

As well as competing in division one, Liverpool City Netball Association hosted the division two competition of the state age championships.

More than 3300 athletes from 306 teams representing 85 associations took to the courts for the 49th instalment of the coveted championships.

The division one tournament was hosted by the Penrith District Netball Association on July 1-3.
