A woman allegedly assaulted an infant and threatened a woman at a Prairiewood home last Saturday. Police were called to the home on Clegg Place about 8.30am after reports of an assault.
Police were told a woman, 27, had assaulted an infant with a small pole and threatened another female, in her 50s, at the home.
The younger woman was arrested and taken to Fairfield police station where she was charged with intimidating, assault, assault causing bodily harm and being armed.
She was refused bail and was due to in Parramatta court last Sunday.
The 11-month-old infant was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead as a precaution.
A child-at-risk notification was submitted to Family and Community Services. The incident is domestic-related.
Home invasion: two charged
Two men were due in court last Saturday after they were charged over a home invasion at Cabramatta.
About 1pm on Friday, May 12, two men armed with knives, scissors and a replica handgun were at a home on Curtin Street.
After failing to force their way through the front door, despite kicking and damaging it, they went to the rear of the premises and confronted a male resident, 62, and threatened him with the handgun and searched his pockets. He wasn’t injured.
Three other residents realised what was occurring and called police.
Cabramatta officers attended. When the two men tried to run away they were arrested by the officers and searched.
The men, 26 and 28, were taken to Cabramatta police station and interviewed about the incident and a similar offence at the same location earlier this month.
They were charged with attempted special aggravated break-and-enter, being armed, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and special aggravated break-and-enter and committing a serious indictable offence while armed.
Both were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court later on Saturday, May 13.
Stolen vehicle in Mount Pritchard crash
At 1.30pm on Monday, May 8, a collision occurred at the intersection of Meadows Road and Hamel Road at Mount Pritchard.
Checks revealed one of the vehicles involved was stolen in 2016 and the driver had a disqualified licence until 2018. A Rossmore man, 28, was charged with illegal using a motor vehicle and driving while he was disqualified.
He is due to appear in Liverpool court on a date yet to be set.
Laser pointer found at Lansvale . . .
At 11.15am on Tuesday, May 9, police searched a vehicle and two people in a carpark on Silverwater Crescent at Lansvale.
Police found a class 3R laser pointer with an output of 5 milliwatts.
This is classified as a prohibited article where the laser pointer exceeds 1 milliwatt.
A Bonnyrigg Heights woman, 34, was issued a field court-attendance notice for having the laser pointer and is due in Liverpool court on May 29.
. . . and a taser found at Mount Pritchard
At 1.45am on Wednesday, May 10, police spoke to two people seated in a vehicle on Hamel Road at Mount Pritchard. During a search they found a conducted electrical weapon, or taser.
A Wakeley man, 39, was issued a court-attendance notice for having a prohibited weapon and is due to appear in Liverpool court on June 19.
Canley Heights charity bin missing
Between noon on Tuesday, May 9, and noon on Wednesday, May 10, a charity bin was stolen from Bareena Street at Canley Vale, near the Cabra Vale Leisure Centre.
