WORLD’S GREATEST SHAVE | Chief Fluid Systems double their $10K goal

Chief Fluid Systems, at Chipping Norton, hosted a World’s Greatest Shave event last Friday “in honour of people we love who’ve battled blood cancer”.

“We wanted to raise as much money as possible to help make a difference and provide funding for research that will help more people survive blood cancers,” said office manager Mandy Haddon.

“We invited local businesses, customers, suppliers, family and friends and then enlisted help – so many people were happy to assist.

Hennessy’s Coffee set up a coffee cart and raised funds by making coffees for a gold-coin donation.

“Our hairdressers, Meagan and Kylee, raised funds by working flat out shaving, colouring and waxing.

Blackbook Ink created an awesome street artwork right in front of us and raised a whopping $700 auctioning it.

“One of our big fundraisers was our live memorabilia auction. Michael Sleiman and team from First National Daystar ran it for us and raised $5700.

“Another big money-raiser was our raffle which raised over $6000.

“Meanwhile, Rise and Grind Cafe spent all day slaving over the barbecue and feeding our hungry guests, with help from Kennard’s Hire Moorebank who provided the barbecue, chairs and marquee.

Christopher Woe Photography captured all the fun through their lens. Five-7 Racing added interest with their wingless and vintage sprint cars which they displayed. And the arcade games were a big hit with all the kids, particularly the big ones.

“It all came together and we had a fabulous afternoon. We’ve already raised $20,000 with a little more to come.

“Our team have been very brave, shaving, colouring and waxing for this great cause. And everyone has been so very generous with their time and money – the support has been amazing!”

Team Close Shave’s donation goal was $10,000 – at press time the donation tally has already reached $20,254.60.
