Two eastbound lanes remain closed following today’s car fire on the Hume Highway, just past the M5 Motorway.
Traffic is queued up to 2km and traffic conditions remain heavy.
Emergency services are attending the scene and motorists in the area should exercise caution.

The site has now been cleared following the three-vehicle accident on the M5 Motorway at Heathcote Road.
However, eastbound traffic remains affected and there are heavy traffic conditions on the M5.
Motorists in the area should allow extra travel time.

Traffic is queued up to 2km due to the car fire incident on the Hume Highway just past the M5 Motorway.
Traffic is being diverted via De Meyrick Avenue, Reserve Road and Graham Avenueback to the Hume Highway.
The road is closed in the eastbound direction and there are heavy traffic conditions.

Two eastbound lanes of the M5 Motorway have re-opened at Moorebank after a multi-vehicle crash at Heathcote Road.
All city-bound lanes were closed while emergency services worked to free a person trapped in a vehicle, Transport Management Centre spokesperson Derek Peterson said.
One eastbound lane of the M5 remains closed at the crash site and traffic is still heavy.
Motorists are advised to allow plenty of additional travel time.

Transport Management Centre spokesperson Nicquie Sinclair has advised motorists to avoid the M5 Motorway.
Ms Sinclair advised motorists to exit the motorway at Camden Valley Way to then use the Hume Highway.
She said traffic was already very heavy and was queued back about four kilometres on the M5.

There are further delays on the Hume Highway, just past the M5, due to a car being on fire this afternoon.
Southbound traffic is currently affected.
Emergency services are attending the scene and motorists in the area should exercise caution.

There are heavy traffic delays on the M5 Motorway this afternoon following a multi-vehicle accident.
Emergency services received a call out for an accident involving three vehicles at about 4pm on Wednesday, February 22.
The accident occurred on the M5 at Heathcote Road.
The road is now closed in the eastbound direction.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution in the area.
