Bernard Tomic and Sam Stosur have crashed out of Wimbledon following respective straight-set losses on Friday.
The in-form Tomic was no match for world No.1 Novak Djokovic, falling 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 to the reigning champion on centre court.
It was the second time Djokovic has ended Tomic's run at Wimbledon, defeating the Australian in four sets in the 2011 quarter finals.
"I played okay, he was playing very good," Tomic said.
"You know, it just shows you why he's the best. Those tough games, the score looked a lot closer than it was. It was very close in moments, but somehow in those big points he just gets that... I can't even describe it in words. Too good, too good. To get to that level, you need to work hard. I learn a lot every time I play Novak. It's a great honor. That's why he's the best player in the world.
"Now it's at the stage where I am, to be 20 in the world or to be in the top five-six, I have to work hard, there is no doubt about it. That spot, top four or five is a lot of work to do, but it's possible for me. But I need to work hard. It just shows you what he can do on the court ... I felt it was close every game, but the score, he just killed me today."
Stosur capitulated in her third round match against American Coco Vandeweghe, dropping 12 consecutive games after winning the first two to bow out of tournament 6-2, 6-0.
Despite equaling her best record at the All England Club, Stosur once again struggled against the American who has now beaten the Queenslander in their last three outings.
"She practically gave me her first service game, but I started well with my service game," Stosur said.
"Yeah, got 2‑Love up and had a couple of game points. But all of a sudden got a bit shaky and lost serve. Change of end, you still kind of think, okay, 2‑1, it's okay, you're back on serve, no big deal.
"But, yeah, things just kind of went from that to worse very quickly. Yeah, it really got away fast. So I don't know. It's just a bad day."
Nick Kyrgios progressed through to the fourth round with a four set win over Canadian Milos Raonic, setting up a date with Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
Australian Sam Groth will square off against Swiss legend Roger Federer in the third round on Saturday, while Casey Dellacqua will do battle with Agnieszka Radwanska.
