It goes without saying that vases and ceramics should be moved to higher ground (to shelves) but the trailing wires of electronic equipment, table and floor lamps can be lethal when pulled — by electric shock or causing something heavy to fall on a little one's head.
Gaffer tape may not look trendy but it's better than a dead or injured child.
It's also a good idea to choose seating that cannot tip over easily, make sure tablecloths don't dangle over the edge and fit all bathroom cupboards with childproof locks.
