During the week we brought you the news that The Fix Cold Pressed Juice has opened the country's first cold pressed juice vending machine in the Canberra Centre food court below Dendy.
Now another healthy and convenient food spot has opened up almost directly downstairs, albeit in a far more hidden location.
The fairly self-explanatory Nutrition Station offers a comprehensive menu of smoothies plus protein frozen yoghurt, protein pancakes, acai balls and healthy snacks, which will change seasonally.
The cafe is tucked away inside Fitness First, but is open to the public.
Nutrition Station also stocks snacks from small Canberra company Guilt Free Goodness, who specialise in treats free from dairy, gluten and refined sugar, with locally-sourced ingredients.
The franchise, which has 20 other stores throughout the country, is also the official supplier of YouFoodz pre-packaged meals. The meals are never frozen and keep for up to nine days when refrigerated.
The extensive menu includes options like barbeque chicken scallopini with quinoa and asparagus, grass-fed Thai beef and vermicelli salad, and roasted macadamia barramundi, which are all $9.95 each.
Meals can be ordered ahead of time and picked up in store, or you can just turn up and choose from the meals available.
The store's manager and co-owner Aidan Gordon says the YouFoodz meals have already been so popular with health-conscious and time-poor locals that they already have to install extra fridges to keep them all.
