Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man following an assault in Liverpool earlier this year.
About 1.15am on May 10, a 33-year-old man and 26-year-old woman attended Woodward Park on Hoxton Park Road.
The pair were approached by a group of four unknown men wearing dark clothing.
It’s alleged one of the men armed himself with a baseball bat and struck the 33-year-old man in the head.
The group then kicked the man multiple times while he was on the ground before they fled.
The woman contacted emergency services who attended a short time later.
The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a stable condition and has received ongoing treatment for a fractured skull, bruising and brain damage.
Officers from Liverpool Local Area Command launched an investigation into the incident and a crime scene was established in the park.
Strike Force Lerak was later established to investigate the assault, with detectives now releasing a COMFIT (computer generated image) of a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
The male is described as being Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, with an olive complexion and about 20 years old.
He has short black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who knows the identity of the man or has any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
