Man takes out axe during fight in Liverpool

Police are appealing for information following an altercation at a store in Liverpool on Friday during which a man produced an axe.

Just after 5pm a man walked into a pharmacy on Hoxton Park Road, took a pair of earrings and walked from the store without paying.

Three staff members activated a store alarm and chased after the man, before escorting the man back into the store.

Police have been told the man then removed an axe from his clothing and threatened staff members, before fleeing the scene.

Liverpool police were contacted and established a crime scene.

As they continue their investigations, they would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

He is described as being about 152 centimetres tall, with a dark complexion, black hair and a tattoo on the back of one of his hands.

The man was seen wearing a fluoro yellow and navy hooded jumper and long dark blue pants.
