A YouTube video of a cyclist being robbed at gunpoint in South Africa has gone viral with close to half a million views in two days.
Captured on a helmet-mounted GoPro camera, Malcolm Fox's morning ride through Sir Lowry's Pass near Cape Town was interrupted by a man with a gun.
The gunman is joined by another two suspects who together demand Mr Fox dismounts the bike before taking it along with his phone and sunglasses.
Mr Fox notes in the video that fortunately the thieves seem unfamilar with GoPro cameras and fail to take it.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said all three assailants are facing charges of robbery.
“Thorough investigation work led investigators to the suspects with the help of the footage,” said Mr Traut.
