A LOCAL school for children with autism spectrum disorder is calling on residents to don their team colours to support their fund-raising drive.
Aspect Macarthur School is holding the World Cup themed fund-raising event at Wests Leagues Club at Leumeah next Saturday.
School co-ordinator Liz Watson is encouraging the community to attend the event, dressed in the colours of the national team they support and help raise much-needed funds for the school.
"The main focus on this fund-raiser is to enhance the school," Mrs Watson said.
"We have about 100 students across sites in Cobbitty, Holsworthy, Hoxton Park and Campbelltown."
She said the money raised would go towards fixing old outdoor furniture and buying an interactive white board.
"Children with autism spectrum disorder are often visual learners so that will be useful."
The school is based at Cobbitty and also offers satellite classes for infants, primary and high school students.
Mrs Watson said the event's theme was chosen to celebrate the start of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
"Please come along and join us for a great fun-filled night for the whole family," she said.
Radio station C91.3 presenter Captain Pat will host the event which will also include an auction. The program will run from 6pm to 11.30pm.
Cost: $70, including a three-course meal and tea or coffee.
