Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was approached at Holsworthy last week.
A 16-year-old girl was walking on an access way to Holsworthy railway station along Heathcote Road when a man approached her from behind about 10.30am on Friday, May 30.
Police have been told the man put both his arms around her body in a "bear hug" before the teenager freed herself and ran away.
The girl contacted a family member, who picked her up from the train station. She was not injured.
Liverpool police were notified of the incident and commenced an investigation.
Detectives would like to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man is described as being of Asian appearance, approximately 25 to 30 years old, tanned, with a medium build.
He was last seen wearing a tan-coloured camouflage hooded jumper with long, black sleeves, black shorts, and tan-coloured thongs.
