A LIVERPOOL entrepreneur is changing the face of business networking here, one Facebook post at a time.
ConnectFX founder Daniel Doherty, of Macquarie Links, said the goal of the group, which meets monthly, is for local people to share their business insights.
"It's important for business people to share their experience and help others develop," he said. "We also have a Facebook group, which is another way of doing that.
"I've designed it so local business people can share their experiences and relevant information there and communicate with each other whenever it's convenient.
"It's a great, easy way for business people to communicate in a relaxed, community atmosphere."
The invitation-only group was set up earlier this year and has more than 140 members.
Mr Doherty said the ConnectFX meetings are at the AMF Bowling Liverpool on the first Thursday of the month.
"There are no membership fees and the events are free but members can help out by becoming sponsored guests and event partners and then their banners are displayed at the function."
Mr Doherty, a former director of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, runs his website design company MerlinFX from home.
He said he picks the members of the business group to ensure they're not involved in multi-level marketing businesses.
"We're exclusively focused on local small-business people rather than those who will use it to pitch.
"Each month I interview a guest asking questions which will be useful for members."
He said the group also raises money for Young Adult Disabled Association and Autism Advisory and Support Service.
