Man shot in Green Valley

Inquiries are continuing after a man was injured during a shooting at Green Valley on Friday.

About 9.30pm Green Valley police were called to Falcon Circuit, near the intersection of Peregrine Close, after reports of shots fired at the location.

Police have been told a number of shots were fired in the street, before a vehicle was seen driving away. It is understood this was a targeted shooting.

A crime scene has been established at the location and will be examined by forensic specialists. 

Investigators have located a small amount of blood in the street; however no one with an injury was found nearby.

About 11.15pm, police were called to hospital after a man presented to the emergency department with an apparent gunshot wound to his back.

The 19–year-old will undergo surgery today (Saturday 24 May 2014).

Inquiries into the matter are continuing and anyone who may have witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police is urged to come forward.
