Police have charged a man with dangerous driving after a pursuit in Prestons last night.
Liverpool Highway Patrol officers were patrolling Bernera Road just after 10pm April 29, when they detected a Nissan Coupe travelling at an alleged speed of 108km/h in a 70km/h zone.
Police attempted to follow the vehicle, which travelled through a number of streets at high speeds.
The Nissan allegedly failed to stop and officers initiated a pursuit, during which it allegedly reached a speed of 180km/h in a 50km/h zone on Ash Road.
The vehicle turned left onto Camden Valley Way before entering the M7 Motorway.
The 23-year-old male driver stopped the Nissan on the M7 when his front tyre sustained damage.
He was charged with dangerous driving, not stopping during a police pursuit and exceeding the speed limit over 45km/h.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on May 28.
His licence was suspended.
