WARWICK Farm's racing community is mourning the untimely death of top jockey Nathan Berry.
Berry, 23, of Warwick Farm, died last Thursday.
After collapsing during trackwork in Singapore on Tuesday, March 18, he was flown back to Sydney and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.
Berry suffered a series of seizures before he was placed in an induced coma.
Doctors diagnosed him with Norse syndrome, an acute form of epilepsy.
His funeral was held at the Grand Pavilion at Rosehill Gardens yesterday, Tuesday.
Nathan Berry's twin brother Tommy is also one of racing's top riders.
They grew up in Warwick Farm and went to Chipping Norton Public School and Moorebank High School.
The boys' father Kevin is a horse trainer, and their mother Julie ran racing stables at Warwick Farm.
Berry married Whitney Schofield at Miramare Gardens in Terrey Hills, two months ago.
She is the daughter of top jockey Glyn Schofield. Her brother Chad is also a jockey.
