Veggie Lady's help on plants

LIVERPUDLIANS will have the chance to find their green thumbs at a free plant propagation workshop this weekend.

Liverpool Council will hold the free session from 10am to noon this Saturday at the Liverpool Council Operations Centre at 99 Rose Street.

Presenter Toni Salter (pictured), who is known as the "The Veggie Lady" on radio, will show residents how to make their own propagating mix, what seeds to choose, how to do softwood, semi-hardwood and hardwood cuttings and how to collect and store seed.

Liverpool mayor Ned Mannoun said the propagation workshop formed part of the council's Sustainability Blitz Program.

"The council's vision for Liverpool is for it to be a natural, sustainable city where our natural environment is valued and protected for future generations to enjoy," Cr Mannoun said.

Bookings are essential and places are limited.
