Man to face court over Liverpool train station indecent assault

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged indecent assault of a teenage girl at Liverpool railway station.

About 1.30pm yesterday, Sunday, February 23, a 16-year-old girl was walking up the stairs at the train station when she was approached by a 35-year-old man who allegedly indecently assaulted her.

Sydney Trains staff were notified and gave chase to the man when he allegedly tried to flee.

He was detained until Liverpool police arrived a short time later.

The 35-year-old Iranian national was arrested and taken to Liverpool police station where he was charged with common assault and indecent assault.

He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today, February 24.
