Wanderers alive

The Western Sydney Wanderers are still in the hunt for the A-League Premier's Plate, after ladder pacesetters, Brisbane Roar, suffered a shock 1-0 loss on the weekend.

The Roar were ambushed at home by the Newcastle Jets and as a result did not extend their lead of seven points.

The Wanderers, who had a game in hand and sat out the round 19 games along with Melbourne Victory, will now believe they can still overtake the Roar in the final eight rounds of the competition.

Their title chase starts this Saturday night in Perth, where they will take on the Glory.
