MOOREBANK Liverpool District Hockey Club is running a social series at Ernie Smith Reserve, Moorebank, on Sundays, at 4pm.
The club's public relations officer, Kim Brooks, said the cost is $4 and the format continues until Sunday, March 9.
"It's a non-competitive as it's an early training run for our current players and is a great introduction for anyone wanting to try hockey," Brooks said.
"Previously this was for teenagers and adults, but this year we are also running free training sessions for juniors at the same time.
"This is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to try the sport of hockey, prior to committing to the full season."
Brooks said Moorebank provide sticks for the sessions but shin pads and a mouthguard must be worn.
In other news, Ernie Smith Reserve will host the City and Country carnival on Saturday, March 1, and Sunday, March 2.
Brooks said Moorebank has five players in both the boys' and girls' city teams.
