Guest chef at celebration

"IRON Chef" Bob Wu will be one of the drawcards for Sunday's Chinese New Year celebrations at Wattle Grove.

Taking place at Wattle Grove Community Centre from 4pm to 7pm, the event will include traditional lion dancing, a Chinese cultural fashion show, a violin performance, a martial arts demonstration, and cooking tuition from the Iron Chef.

Federal Hughes MP Craig Kelly said he was keen to support the event.

"Liverpool is a wonderfully diverse community and I am pleased we are able to come together to celebrate this significant cultural event as we enter the Year of the Horse," he said.

"It is also a great opportunity for all of us to learn more about Chinese culture and enjoy some of the tasty delicacies prepared by Iron Chef Bob Wu."

Another highlight of the free event is the chance for locals to have their names translated into a work of art by a Chinese calligrapher.
