JOSH Loulias may have the physique of a jockey but the teenager only has one sport on his mind — and that's golf.
The Chipping Norton boy is a featherweight 38 kilograms and stands 150 centimetres, yet he plays off a 16 handicap and he's only 13.
Josh is one of the rising talents at Liverpool Golf Club.
He has been under the coaching and development of club professional Brent Dale for the past year at the Lansvale club.
"Josh is coming along well and he certainly is a talent," Dale said.
"He's only 13 and we are not rushing him.
"Josh won the club junior championship nett division last year."
Josh is now playing B grade in the club championships against adults.
Dale said he's grown up around golf as his dad Manuel is a very good player.
"Josh can hit the ball 200 metres from the tee with the club," Dale said.
Dale said the youngster had a fantastic attitude and a willingness to learn.
"Brent has taught me a lot about the game, my club shots, my iron shots, my putting, all aspects of the game," Josh said.
He said Dale had also emphasised the need to be positive and relaxed when playing.
He said playing golf was now his number one priority: "I used to play soccer with Chipping Norton but the only sport I play now is golf".
Josh said in the next few months he would enter several junior tournaments as well as continuing to play B grade in club championships to further develop his skills.
"Playing B grade against the adults has also helped my game playing against older golfers," Josh said.
