MORE female than male drivers from the Menai electorate were rewarded with half-price licences as part of the Fair Go for Safe Drivers scheme.
Menai MP Melanie Gibbons recently announced that 4042 motorists received the discount for safe driving and good behaviour.
Ms Gibbons said figures showed that 2285 women had received the discounted licence compared with 1757 men.
"The scheme rewards motorists with an unblemished driving record for five years with a 50 per cent reduction on the price of their driver's licence renewal," she said.
"More women than men are being rewarded for their safe driving.
"It's our way of saying thank you to motorists who do the right thing and encouraging better driving behaviour in others."
