THERE'S light at the end of the tunnel for South Liverpool Out of School Hours (SLOOSH) childcare service.
SLOOSH, a non-profit organisation which operates from a leased room at the Michael Wenden Aquatic Centre in Miller, will stay put for another year.
Staff had become concerned after they heard there would be a change in management.
The centre, which is operated by Belgravia Leisure, has lost the Liverpool Council tender to YMCA NSW, which will take over the management of the centre and the Whitlam Leisure Centre on Friday.
SLOOSH public office manager Ruth Brissett-Costa said she was "ecstatic" and looked forward to building a good rapport with YMCA NSW.
"We've agreed on a year's contract," she said.
"They [YMCA NSW] seemed happy with everything that we provide and are happy to keep us in the community.
"We've worked hard to build a rapport in the community.
"We're hoping it would be a good partnership between us and YMCA NSW."
YMCA NSW regional manager Mark Zilm said community consultation and a review of business partnerships were under way.
"These centres will be focused on bringing families together and providing locals with a space where they can get healthy and stay active together, " he said.
