MITCHELL Williams compiled a fighting second innings century to save Fairfeld Liverpool from outright defeat against Blacktown on Saturday.
With the Lions dismissed for just 53 the previous week, Blacktown declared at 4-219 with a 166-run lead to secure six first innings points. In the second innings, Fairfield Liverpool made 250, with Williams hitting 101.
Blacktown was 1-3 at stumps.
On Saturday the Lions host UNSW in round three of the Sydney competition at Rosedale Oval at 10.30am. Then on Sunday the Lions hold the annual Back to Rosedale Oval Day.
The Lions play Sydney in Twenty20 games. Poidevin Gray Shield under-21s team start at at 10am and first grade is at 2.30pm.
