LIVERPOOL City Little Athletics Centre's season has begun — and the premium event is coming around faster than Usain Bolt.
The annual gala day is on Sunday at Dwyer Oval, Warwick Farm from 9am.
Public relations manager Dora Zerafa said it would be a big event.
"We have 330 athletes from 40 clubs competing at the gala day," she said.
Zerafa said the club has many talented athletes.
Several have won medals at major championships this year.
At the state championships held at Sydney Olympic Park, the club had 21 representatives, and six competitors won medals.
In the 11-years' girls category, Isabelle Lhotka won gold medal in the 100 metres and 200 metres. Nathan Kendall won a silver in the under-17s boys discus and Arthur Leleai-Ini won silver in the under-11s boys' discus. Leteine Tikeri won gold in the under-10 girls discus, a silver in the shot put and a bronze for discus.
The centre may have athletes competing for NSW in the trans-Tasman series in January.
At this year's event trans-Tasman event, Michael Dokovic and Isabelle Lhotka represented their state. Isabelle won gold in the 200 metres sprint and silver in the 100 metres.
The club holds its track and field meetings at Dwyer Oval, Warwick Farm, on Friday nights from September to March.Details: lclac.com.au.
