Four motorcycle gang members will face Liverpool Local Court today after police allegedly stopped them in a stolen car last night.
Police from Liverpool Proactive Team said they pulled over a Holden SS Commodore station wagon on Bathurst Street at 9.10pm, (Thursday October,17) for a minor traffic offence.
When they approached the vehicle the driver and a passenger ran from the car.
Police gave chase.The passenger of the car was arrested a short time later.
The driver was seen getting into another car, described only as a Holden.
It was later stopped in Bigge Street by police.During the chase police allege they saw the driver discard a number of items.
Police later collected a .38 pistol and a pair of black gloves.Police say the man was wearing a ballistic vest and had .38 calibre ammunition at the time he was arrested.
The Holden SS Commodore was later confirmed as stolen.
A Liverpool man, 27, was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence and be carried in a conveyance.
A 30-year-old Prestons man was charged with accessory after the fact to being armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
A 25-year-old Campsie man was charged with drive conveyance without consent, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, possess prohibited weapon, possess loaded firearm in a public place, possess unregistered firearm and possess ammunition.
The fourth man, a 34-year-old from Hurlstone Park, was charged with accessory after the fact to being armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
The men were refused bail and are expected to appear in Liverpool Local Court.
