SYDNEY United 58 FC are the inaugural National Premier Leagues final series champions, defeating South Hobart FC 2-0 at KGV Football Park in Hobart on Saturday.
Winners of the competitions in NSW, Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland and ACT qualified for the knockout series played over the past three weeks.
Glen Trifiro scored in the 11th minute and Ibrahim Haydar scored from a header in the 15th minute to give United a 2-0 lead in the wet conditions.
The score was unchanged at full-time after outstanding defence from United.
United's Trifiro was awarded the John Kosmina Medal for best player in the grand final.
The midfielder played a stellar game, scoring a goal and having a huge influence over the result.
It has been a successful season for the Mark Rudan United, with two major trophies.
First, the National Premier Leagues NSW Men's Elite 1 premiership and now the NPL grand final.
