AUSTRALIA'S newest running festival, Rebel Run Sydney, will be held on Sunday, October 27, at Sydney Olympic Park. Entries are now open.
The event is being presented by Fairfax Media Sunday newspaper the Sun-Herald.
A fun, family-oriented event, Run Sydney is the new name for the much-loved Run4Fun annual event which has grown from a single event to include for the first time a half marathon as well as the three-kilometre fun run for kids and a 10-kilometre course. Elite runners, wheelchair athletes, walkers, pram pushers, joggers and kids of all ages are encouraged to join in and support their chosen charity, with prizes on offer for highest team, and individual fund-raisers.
After the run - which can be walked, run or skipped by those taking part - Fairfax Media's Essential Kids will host a free BYO family picnic. The picnic will include an animal petting zoo presented by Taronga Zoo, a special kids training session with players from the Waratahs and the Bulldogs, face painting, music and entertainment, a jumping castle, and other fun outdoor games.
