SOUTH Liverpool Out of School Hours (SLOOSH) Incorporated Kids Care fears for its future.
The service leases a room at The Michael Wenden Centre in Miller, which is owned by Liverpool Council and operated by Belgravia Leisure.
After a recent tender renewal, Belgravia Leisure lost out to YMCA [Australia], causing concern for SLOOSH.
Service representative Ruth Brissett said it was uncertain whether the new operator would allow them to stay.
She said she had made contact with the YMCA, which had expressed an interest in the service.
SLOOSH Kids Care is a not-for-profit community-based association providing before and after school care services to children aged between four and 16 years.
It also provides vocational care and runs programs for children and families.
Ms Brissett said news of the new management had caused confusion and stress among parents and staff.
"What's going to happen to us . . . the kids, the families?," she said.
"I'm really distressed about new people coming here."
Mrs Brissett said SLOOSH was valued in the community and formed good relationships with members and local organisations.
"We've built a good rapport in the community. We work with the local parish, we hold fund-raising events, we work with Mission Australia and run programs for disadvantaged families," she said.
Liverpool Council general manager Farooq Portelli said two tenders were received and YMCA was the successful tenderer.
"SLOOSH is a not-for-profit organisation which has a commercial tenant arrangement with Belgravia Leisure.
