IT'S ONLY a week until 20-year-old New Zealander and Liverpool beauty Shiloh Phillips flies to Hawaii for the fourth annual Mr and Miss Polynesia Pacific pageant, and she's working hard to raise the last of the funds.
Miss Phillips, who's in her second year at Bible college, says a lot of what she and her friends were doing was "on a shoe-string budget".
"A lot of preparation has gone into it — things I didn't know I needed to do, like practising walking and speech," she said.
"But we have not reached our financial goal yet and would be pleased with any form of sponsorship."
Five men and five women of Polynesian blood are chosen from all over the world.
The team helping Miss Phillips consists of a manager, personal trainer, makeup artist, wardrobe assistant and fashion designer.
"The members of my team are all pumped and ready to go," Miss Phillips said.
"They have done such a good job in helping me prepare for this event.
"My trainer, Preston Whare, has me working really hard. It's good though; I love it."
The outfits for the event and jewellery are ready.
"The designers have done a really good job to incorporate my personality and style into each gown," she said.
"I love the dresses and can't wait to show them off on the catwalk."
All donations or inquiries can be sent to email@example.com or you can call the manager, Jack Perry, on 0413 237 634.
Miss Phillips is also asking for support in the first competition of the pageant — the Most Popular Contestant award — in which you can vote for her on the Mr and Miss Polynesia Pacific "fan page".
