LES Gagan is one of the long-standing announcers who have helped contribute to 2GLF 89.3 FM's success.
Mr Gagan and other members recently celebrated 30 years of broadcasting by opening a new studio at 161 Bigge Street, Liverpool.
2GLF 89.3 FM's co-founder and current member, Jim Tumeth, said the radio station had come a long way.
"The technology we had back then in 1983 was very basic," he said.
"We went to air using second-hand equipment and a lot of enthusiasm."
Mr Gagan has been on air for the past 10 years and hosts a country music program every Monday.
He said he looked forward to many more years of broadcasting with 2GLF, where, he said, there was the most up-to-date equipment and technology.
"It's a pleasure to present your program because you have everything on hand you need," he said.
"It [30 years] definitely was a milestone for the radio station."
Mr Gagan said he had enjoyed working alongside other members equally passionate about 2GLF.
"There's been a lot of hard work and we have a lot of hard-working people," he said. "It wouldn't be where it is today if it wasn't for them.
"Looking at it then and looking at it now you can see it was very basic, but over the years with the input from a lot of volunteers, it's just gone from strength to strength.
"It'll be nice to see them in another 30 years."
