EVENTS to celebrate Miller Public School's 50th anniversary have been put together by members of the school's Parents and Citizens Association and of the staff.
On Saturday night, the P&C will play host to a celebratory dinner.
Resident Connie Wilson has had a long association with Miller Public School.
The former pupil there is now a member of the P&C and sends her four children to the school.
She said she had many happy memories and stories from her time at Miller Public.
"I can remember the pats on the back we used to receive from teachers — a high five, or the occasional hug," Mrs Wilson said.
She said a lot had changed since she was a pupil.
"We're now very multicultural," she said.
Miller Public School relieving principal Poppy Kassimatis said pupils and staff were looking forward to the celebrations.
"It's been a wonderful opportunity for the community to work with the school," she said.
"We're very excited about the events. P&C has worked tirelessly with a committee of staff and we look forward to it being a wonderful celebration."
