Kent Johns is no stranger to politics.
A former Sutherland Shire mayor and Rockdale councillor, he has served his community for more
than 10 years. Now he is migrating south-west to see what he can offer Werriwa constituents.

‘‘Local business owners tell me that the current government’s new taxes are hurting consumer confidence and they are scared to take on new workers or invest in new equipment.
‘‘But I would be part of a Coalition government that would cut $1 billion worth of red tape for businesses every year so that local businesses can expand and create more local jobs.’’
Mr Johns is the general manager of a manufacturing business in the water industry.
He says he understands business and knows the importance of a strong economy.
‘‘The residents of Werriwa would benefit immediately by electing me, because as part of a Coalition
government I would vote to repeal the carbon tax, saving them 10 per cent on their electricity bills,’’ he said.
