Netball teams join Liverpool club

LIVERPOOL City Netball Association turns 45 this year and they are already celebrating a rise in playing numbers well before the new winter season starts on Saturday, April 27.

Bossley Park Sports Club netball teams are switching from the Fairfield association.

Bossley Park Sports netball club secretary Sylvia McNulty said joining Liverpool was an "exciting chapter" in the club's history.

"We should have nine or 10 teams registered," McNulty said.

"We have enjoyed our time playing in the Fairfield association but there was opportunity to join Liverpool. It is not that far to drive for the parents in the Fairfield district to Woodward Park and to play on Saturdays."

Woodward Park is a 32-court complex and the Liverpool association now has 14 clubs and more than 1600 registered players.

Association secretary Estelle Lawler said they would welcome Bossley Park Sports teams to their "family".

Lawler said a new seniors' team from another club, Hawks, was also joining this season.
