The Australian Turf Club is holding the feature thoroughbred race the Apollo Stakes (1400 metres) at Warwick Farm Racecourse this Saturday.
Sports grants
Fowler MP Chris Hayes is encouraging athletes and sporting teams to apply for the Local Sporting Champions grants of $500 (individuals) and $3000 (teams). "This grant helps families cover expenses associated with participating in eligible sporting competitions," he said. Current applications close February 28.

Hangyasi roars
Fairfield-Liverpool first grade cricket fast bowler Phil Hangyasi took 7-49 giving his team the upper hand against Penrith at Rosedale Oval on Saturday. Penrith was dismissed for 135 and in reply the Lions were 4-72 at stumps.
