ALL of McDonald's bread products in NSW and Queensland are made in a bakery on Liverpool's doorstep.
Fresh Start Bakeries in Warwick Farm produces and supplies buns and English muffins to all of the franchise stores in the two states.
It is estimated the bakery produces 60,000 buns an hour, 1000 a minute, and uses more than 17,000 tonnes of bun flour a year.
The company also supplies hot cakes, apple pies, cakes and sweets for McDonald's McCafes in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
Fresh Start Bakeries general manager Bradley Wright will be featured in the new TrackMyMacca's iPhone app.
It will allow consumers to trace where their food and ingredients come from.
Mr Wright said it was important for customers to know where their food was made.
"All the ingredients are pretty much fresh," he said.
"Everything is batched here on site.
"We start producing during the day for our trucks to depart at 2am in the morning.
"Depending on the location, the buns would be from 12-24 hours old by the time they get to a store.
"A lot of people wouldn't know that their burger bun is being produced on their doorstep."
He also said the process wouldn't be possible without his team of local staff.
"We have employed approximately 250 people, with the majority of them being from Liverpool and surrounding areas," he said.
