BRINGELLY'S David Wall, a V8 Supercar Championship driver with the Brad Jones Racing team, competed as part of a factory-supported Peugeot team on Saturday at the Bathurst 12-hour event at Mount Panorama. Wall has raced in V8s, Porsches and a Mitsubishi Evo Lancer, at the Bathurst circuit. He shared driving with French driver Bruce Jouanny and former V8 supercar driver Andrew Jones. Starting in a field of 53, the French Team Peugeot competed in the Invitational class for vehicles under 1600cc. The team won its class and had a 16th place overall after 233 laps. Qualifying in 36th, Wall took the Peugeot into 29th, setting the team's fastest lap time for the day. Wall advanced the team a place in his second drive and held it during rain on the track late race. Running second in their class most of the day, Wall's team had a break when the leader pulled out due to mechanical failure, giving them class lead late in the race.
