Liverpool's air quality station fixed

LIVERPOOL'S air quality monitoring station is now compliant with standards after NSW Environment Minister Robyn Parker recently took the steps to ensure it met requirements.

Menai MP Melanie Gibbons and Federal Member for Hughes Craig Kelly brought the matter to Ms Parker's attention after a search through government records.

An annual report to the NSW Environment Minister showed that the monitoring station had not been compliant since at least 2006.

Mr Kelly raised the topic in Parliament on Wednesday.

He said the seven-year non-compliance period cast doubt over the accuracy of air quality records.

"The residents of south-west Sydney are entitled to clean air and they are entitled to be sure that that air is being accurately monitored," he said.

The monitoring station in Rose Street is the only monitoring station in Liverpool.
