Changing with the times

SULE College has recently changed its name to Amity College.

The meaning of amity is friendship, peaceful harmony and mutual understanding, which captures the core values of the school.

Sule College has become a multicultural school and more than two-thirds of the students are from backgrounds other than Turkish.

It has grown from a small community school to an educational institution that represents the broader community.

This change in the student and teacher composition of the school has urged the School Board to re-consider its name to embrace and reflect the community it represents.

The logo is fresh and vibrant resembling an open book and the colours capture the diversity and harmony that exists in the school.

The open book logo symbolises the acts of learning, inquiry, exploring, achieving and inspiring.

As a school, Sule College had developed a strong reputation in education.

It is proud of all its achievements, and its strong brand and heritage.

Tayfun Ozdermir received an All-Rounder achievement with a 99.45 ATAR for the HSC.

Tayfun Ozdemir also scored 100 in mathematics and Javeria Jamal achieved 100 in mathematics extension.

At Sule College, the diligent and compassionate staff has developed a school environment which is conducive to learning in all aspects of life and has contributed to the academic excellence of their students.

To build on these great achievements, it is now the time to set the school up for the future with a new name and logo.
