Technicolour cowboys

KNOWN for their no-holds-barred approach to the genre, celebrated American country music duo Big & Rich are counting down the weeks to their maiden visit to the land down under.

The multi-million album selling duo - Big Kenny Alphin and John Rich - will serve as one of the major drawcards for CMC Rocks the Hunter 2013, a 3-day festival of sound showcasing the finest country music from Australia and abroad.

Held from March 15 to 17 at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley, the event will also feature performances by Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Band Perry and Corb Lund to name just a few.

In a coup for the group, FairfaxMedia entertainment writer and Champion editor Matt Lawrence was chosen as the only print media in the country to speak with Kenny and John before their arrival.
